New Web Site Procedure

Setting up your new site

1. Move your files over to our server

We will give you a login which allows you to move files to a server. Begin by moving the files you want to run your site (your HTML files, pictures, etc) to this location.

2. Create a new domain

If you don't already have a domain (i.e. www.site.com), you can create one using www.register.com or another domain registrant such as Network Solutions. These registrants allow you to register a domain. This may take some time because many of the domain names you attempt to use may already be reserved.

3. Initiate the domain transfer

After you have bought a domain you will need to allow us to manage your domain so that your settings are correct and current. When you tell us you are ready to transfer your domain we will notify your registrant to begin the transfer. This takes a few hours to complete.

4. Confirm the transfer

Soon after making the request, you will receive an email asking your permission to change control of your domain. This is email is a security precaution to deter domain theft. After you authorize the transfer, we will bring your domain up to speed and your website will go online within a few days. This takes a few days due to every DNS server in the world being notified of where to find your new website. Now you're set! Welcome to the web!
